About the St Vincent de Paul Society

We are a Catholic charity dedicated to tackling poverty and supporting people in need with practical help, friendship, and compassion.

The St Vincent de Paul Society (SVP) has been serving communities across England and Wales for over 175 years. Our volunteers visit people who are lonely, struggling, or in crisis - offering a listening ear, practical support, and a helping hand when it's needed most.

Here in Southend, we run various services to support our local community, including food provision, furniture recycling, befriending services, and more.
